Safety first...

This is how we regulate the use of the Ben-E-Bikes

We have defined a few rules for the use of the Ben-E-Bike in our families:

  • Not a meter without a helmet (the same applies to the use of the normal bike)!
  • In addition, cycling gloves and arm, shoulder and back protectors are mandatory when riding off-road. By the way, kids find such a "martial" outfit cool and hardly need to be persuaded to use it.
  • The Ben-E-Bike belongs to the parents and the children may use it if dad or mum allows it. This prevents the sometimes loveless handling that children have with their things.
  • The Ben-E-Bike may only be ridden when the parents are present.
  • A Ben-E-Bike is something very special and should be seen as such by the child. It is not a conventional everyday bike, but is intended for long, joint tours. For daily use (e.g. to school) a simple, conventional bike should be available in your own interest.
  • We have limited the maximum speed, up to which the motor supports the child, to 20 km/h. Beyond that only muscle power is required.
  • We pay very close attention to the support-level our children select. On the plane, a maximum of level 1 is allowed. The highest level 5 may only be selected for extreme climbs in the terrain.
